DTS, Inc. (NASDAQ:DTSI) today unveiled on the San Francisco IDF
show floor their cutting edge DTS Premium Suite™ technology which offers
a host of groundbreaking audio solutions for PCs, including DTS-HD
Master Audio™, DTS Connect™, DTS Surround Sensation UltraPC™, DTS
Symmetry™, and DTS Boost technologies. DTS Premium Suite™ transforms
ordinary, small-sounding computer speakers into a fully immersive
entertainment experience for the PC.
“We are thrilled to use this forum to unveil our incredible DTS Premium
Suite™ technology,” says David Tan, Vice President Product Management
and North American Licensing, DTS. “At DTS we are committed to offering
consumers the best audio experience possible, and DTS Premium Suite™ is
just another example of our commitment and dedication.”
The San Francisco Intel Developer Forum (IDF) is an annual convention
where the brightest minds in the computer technology industry converge
to meet, collaborate and exchange ideas. The technologies being
showcased by DTS have been detailed to the public before, but this is
the first time that anyone will get the opportunity to experience the
final working product in person.
“We created the Intel Developer Forum with the express purpose of giving
the industry’s innovators a chance to interact and showcase their hard
work in person,” says Mooly Eden, Vice President and General Manager of
the PC Client Group. “We are happy to give attendees the chance to
experience the audio innovations DTS has to offer.”
The DTS Premium Suite technologies being showcased are:
DTS-HD MASTER AUDIO™
This high definition audio decoder is able to decode up to 7.1 channels
of audio for Blu-ray disc movies and music titles. The audio resolution
is of such high quality that the technology enables an exact duplication
of the studio masters. With DTS-HD Master Audio, consumers can
experience 7.1 surround sound that is the absolute best available…
anywhere.
DTS CONNECT™
This technology allows consumers to connect their PCs directly to their
home entertainment system to enjoy any audio stream through their home
entertainment system. Stereo streams are upmixed to surround sound and
can be played back at 5.1 channels.
DTS SURROUND SENSATION ULTRAPC™
This technology creates a simulated surround sound effect through
headphones or PC speakers. It works on all content, whether stereo or
surround to create an incredible surround experience on the most humble
of speakers or headphones.
DTS SYMMETRY™
Erratic loudness levels from a media source (streamed, optical disc,
etc.) can cause a lot of frustration as you constantly toggle your
volume controls. It seems like every video and sound clip on the web has
a different loudness level. Symmetry solves this nagging problem by
creating a pleasant balance between different sources so you have crisp
audio delivered at the same level no matter what media you are
experiencing.
DTS BOOST
DTS Boost is the solution for you. This technology utilizes
sophisticated audio processing to deliver a dramatic increase in
perceived loudness from existing laptop speakers. DTS Boost allows your
laptop to go beyond the acoustic power limitations found on most
internal laptop speaker systems to deliver an elevated audio experience.
Attendees at the IDF can experience the DTS Premium Suite presentation
