WPIX-TV (CW) and its Hispanic-targeted digital multicast channel LATV (Channel 11.3) announced a joint partnership with New Jersey-based Pathmark Supermarkets to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month at New York's South Street Seaport on Sunday, September 27.

LATV's popular on-air celebrity Pili Montilla will emcee an afternoon of FREE activities from 12 Noon to 5pm that will be accompanied by live music, a salsa competition, and free prizes and giveaways. LATV's Pili Montilla is the host of En la Zona and En Concierto, which air locally in New York on WPIX-TV, a Tribune-owned station.

"As part of the WPIX family, LATV is thrilled to participate in events like this," said Starrett Berry, LATV's Vice President of Affiliate Sales.

"For over a year LATV has done a great job helping us connect to New York's incredibly diverse Hispanic community, and the partnership with Pathmark for Hispanic Heritage Month is a sign of more good things to come," said Betty Ellen Berlamino, WPIX President and General Manager. "We think Sunday's event will be a truly special occasion for all families."

The following are scheduled to appear: Dr. Isabel Gomez-Bassols, a radio psychologist who hosts the live call-in show "Doctora Isabel"; the world-renowned Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club Dancers; the Mexican Mariachi group, Mariachi Real de Mexico; Bronx Latin dance squad, Dancers Dreamzzz; and popular Latin swing and salsa band, Jerry Hernandez y La Orquesta Dee Jay.
