Ticketmaster Signs Exclusive Deal to Provide Ticketing Services for the 2010 Women's Rugby World Cup PDF Print E-mail
Thursday, 26 November 2009
Ticketmaster, a Ticketmaster Entertainment, Inc. (NASDAQ:TKTM) company, is proud to announce it has signed an exclusive deal to provide the ticketing services for the 2010 Women's Rugby World Cup.

The 2010 Women's Rugby World Cup will take place from the 20th August until the 5th September, seeing 12 International teams competing in 30 matches at the Surrey Sports Park and Harlequins Stoop Stadium. The tournament will showcase New Zealand, Wales, Australia, South Africa, England, USA, Ireland, Kazakhstan, France, Canada, Scotland and Sweden all competing to be world champions.

Tickets go on sale on 22nd March where fans can purchase individual tickets at a range of prices and a Tournament Pass for GBP60.

Ticketmaster has signed an exclusive ticketing deal for the tournament, which includes providing Ticketmaster's access control solution eEntry(R). eEntry(R) is a complete access and e-ticket solution, offering an affordable, flexible and easy-to-use access control system that enables email ticket delivery through encrypted barcode scanning. Supported by a Ticketmaster hosted server, eEntry(R) requires no additional costly network hardware or wiring making it a perfect fit for smaller venues and remote facilities. This solution provides real-time scanning and barcode authentication at multiple and single entry points preventing the use of counterfeit tickets. This convenient technology also provides direct access to detailed reporting and scanning activity via a personal web interface.

In addition eEntry(R) enables TicketFast(R), the fast and convenient way to receive tickets as a download which can be printed at home rather than waiting for them to be posted or spending time queuing at a box office. Each TicketFast(R) ticket has a unique barcode which is scanned at the venue using Ticketmaster's eEntry(R) system. It also allows for tickets to be purchased right up to the last minute as there is no box-office collection required.

Ticketmaster will also be supporting the 2010 Women's Rugby World Cup through their existing presence and marketing channels in some of the team's global markets such as Ireland, New Zealand and Sweden.

Chris Edmonds, Managing Director, Ticketmaster UK, said: "We are proud to be exclusively providing the ticketing services to the 2010 Women's Rugby World Cup. We are looking forward to working closely with the Rugby Football Union to provide rugby fans world wide with an excellent match day ticketing experience and help in continuing to promote women's rugby."

Rosie Williams, RFUW, Managing Director, said: "The Women's Rugby World Cup 2010 is set to be the most successful women's rugby world cup ever run. We are really excited to have the expertise and knowledge of the team at Ticketmaster world wide on board to help us drive the ticket sales for this prestigious global event.
