Community Association Institute(CAI) award for Association of the Year is designed to highlight exceptional communities for their accomplishments, events, and community involvement.

Centaur Village West Homeowners Association (CVW) is located in Lafayette, Colorado and was originally developed in the late 1970's with the first units completed in 1977. The community has 278 units in 43 buildings with townhomes and apartment style condominiums. Two current board members have resided at CVW for almost 30 years. The Board Members and Management Company work closely together with the residents to build an enjoyable, visually pleasurable place to live.

CVW has accomplished many substantial renovations projects and increased reserve funding for future repair costs without the extra burden of special assessments to the homeowners. This is an exceptional accomplishment in any economic condition but particularly noteworthy in this current economic time.

In addition, communication with the owners was also a key component to CVW's achievement. CVW utilizes a community website to provide owners with access to minutes, calendars and up to date information on decisions, repair efforts and other important community information.
